Frequently asked questions

How do I find what percent one number is of another?
Divide the part by the whole and multiply by 100. 30 out of 200 is 30 ÷ 200 × 100 = 15%.
Can the part be bigger than the whole?
Yes. 250 is 125% of 200. Percentages above 100 simply mean the part is larger than the whole.
What if the total is 0?
A percentage of 0 isn't defined, because it needs a division by 0. The calculator says so instead of showing 0%.
Is anything sent to a server?
No. The calculation runs in your browser, and your last numbers are kept only in this browser's local storage.
