- How do I convert CGPA to percentage?
- It depends on your university. Many use CGPA × 10; VTU and AKTU are commonly cited as (CGPA − 0.75) × 10; GTU as (CGPA − 0.5) × 10. Pick the formula, enter your CGPA, and the percentage updates as you type. Always confirm the rule on your university's circular.
- Is 9.5 the right multiplier?
- Only for old CBSE Class X grades. CBSE stopped issuing CGPA after 2017–18 and its ×9.5 was for school grades, so don't use it for a university CGPA unless your university says to. It stays here as a preset.
- How do I convert a percentage back to CGPA?
- Switch to "% → CGPA". The calculator reverses the chosen formula, and warns when your percentage is below or above what the formula can produce.
- My university uses a different formula. Can I enter it?
- Yes. Choose "My own formula" and type the multiplier and offset (percentage = a × CGPA + b). We can't promise to match every university, so use the rule your institution publishes.
- Can I work out my CGPA from semester results?
- Yes. Open "From semesters", enter each semester's SGPA and credits, and you get the credit-weighted CGPA, which you can then convert. If your university averages SGPAs without credits, give every semester the same credits.
- Does it work for a 5 or 4 point scale?
- Yes. Choose the scale; the proportional formula (CGPA ÷ scale × 100) and your own formula work on any scale. The named university formulas are for the 10-point scale only.
- How accurate is the 4.0-scale GPA?
- It is a straight proportion of your CGPA to 4.0, so only an estimate. US evaluation services such as WES use their own tables; there is no official conversion.
- Is my data stored or uploaded anywhere?
- No. Everything runs in your browser. Your last inputs are saved only in this browser's local storage. A copied link carries your numbers in the part after the #, which is never sent to a server.
- Is it free, and do I need an account?
- It is free, with no sign-up, no watermark and nothing to install.
