- Are my videos uploaded anywhere?
- No. Everything happens in your browser on this device: reading the files, the preview, and making the finished video. Nothing is sent to a server, and there is no account. So that a reload doesn't lose your work, the project and copies of your files (up to 1 GB each) are kept in this browser's own storage on your device; Start a new project clears them.
- Which browsers can export a video?
- Editing and preview work in any current browser. Making the video file needs WebCodecs: current Chrome, Edge and Opera on computers and Android, Safari 16.4 or later on Mac, iPhone and iPad, and Firefox 130 or later on computers. The editor writes MP4 (H.264 video, AAC sound) where the browser can, and WebM (VP9 or VP8, Opus) where it can't; the export window says which before you start. If your browser can't export at all, it says so.
- What can I do with it?
- Put videos, pictures and music on a timeline with several tracks; split clips at the playhead, trim their ends (with or without closing the gaps), move, duplicate and delete them; change speed from a quarter to four times; set volume and fades; add crossfades or fades through black between clips; lay pictures, logos or a second video over the main one with position, size and opacity; add titles and captions with your own font, size, colour and background; and choose a 16:9, 9:16, 1:1 or 4:5 frame with a colour or blurred background. Undo and redo cover every edit.
- Is there a watermark or a time limit?
- There is no watermark and no sign-up. A project can be up to 15 minutes long, with up to 60 files and 400 clips; files up to 4 GB open. Exports are 720p, 1080p or 4K (4K only when your browser's encoder accepts it). Long or 4K exports need a lot of memory because the finished file is held in the browser until you save it, so the export window warns you first.
- Why does the sound change pitch when I change the speed?
- Speed works like a tape or a record: faster is higher, slower is lower. The preview and the exported file sound the same. For a voice-over at another speed, record or prepare it at normal speed and put it on an audio track.
- Is the export the same as the preview?
- Yes. The preview and the export draw every frame with the same code and mix the sound with the same Web Audio graph. The export renders frame by frame from the original files at full quality (it is not a screen recording), so it can take a while on long projects and is not affected by a slow preview.
- How do I use it on a phone?
- Add files with the button, then tap a clip on the timeline to select it. Drag a selected clip to move it, or drag its edges to trim; swipe on the timeline to scroll. The Edit clip tab under the timeline has every setting for the selected clip, and Export makes the file. Large projects are easier on a computer.
- What happens if I reload or close the page?
- Your project comes back. Files over 1 GB, or files the browser's storage had no room for, aren't kept; the media bin marks them, and adding the same file again links it back to its clips.
