Frequently asked questions

Is my voice, audio or video uploaded anywhere?
No. Your microphone and your files are processed entirely in your browser — nothing leaves your device, and there's no account. A file is only saved when you press download.
What's the difference between Live mic and Audio or video file?
Live mic changes your voice in real time as you talk — hear it through headphones and record a take. The file tab opens a song, voice note, recording or video and plays it back with your changes while you adjust them, then downloads the result. Both share the same voices and sound controls; only files can change speed, trim or reverse, since live sound can't be sped up.
What voices and effects are there?
Ten voices — None, Robot, Alien, Dark Lord, Ghost, Radio, Telephone, Walkie-talkie, Megaphone and Underwater — plus pitch from an octave down to an octave up. On top of any voice you can stack reverb, echo, bass, treble and 8D audio, so a ghost with echo or a deep robot in a cave are one tap each. Presets include Deep, Monster, Chipmunk, Helium, Cave, Slowed & Reverb, Nightcore, 8D audio and Bass boosted.
Can I change the voice in a video?
Yes. Open an MP4, MOV or WEBM video in the file tab, pick a voice or effect, and press Download video. You get a new MP4 with the same picture and the changed sound. Change the speed and the picture speeds up or slows down with it; trim it and both are cut. It's made on your device with your browser's own video encoder, so it works best in Chrome or Edge.
How do I make a slowed and reverb or 8D version of a song?
Open the song, tap Slowed & Reverb or 8D audio, and fine-tune the speed, pitch and reverb sliders while it plays. 8D audio slowly moves the sound around your head — listen on headphones — and works on any voice or song. Then download it as MP3 or WAV.
Can I change speed without changing pitch (and vice versa)?
Yes, on a file. It uses real time-stretching, so you can slow a track down without it sounding low and slurred, or drop the pitch without changing the tempo. Slow a song to 0.5–0.75× with pitch at 0 to practise or transcribe it in the original key.
Can I trim or reverse audio?
Yes. Set the start and end under Trim to keep just a part, and press Reverse to play it backwards (reverse is for sound files, not videos). The download contains only what you kept.
Do I need headphones?
For the live "Hear myself" monitor, yes — if you listen through speakers while the mic is open, the output feeds back into the mic and squeals. Recording works either way, and file playback needs none. 8D audio only makes sense on headphones.
How good is the quality?
File changes use SoundTouch time-stretching, which sounds very good for moderate changes; extreme settings (well below half speed or beyond ±7 semitones) add some artefacts, as with any time-stretching. Live pitch shifting is "fun-grade" with a small delay — great for a monster or chipmunk voice, not a studio auto-tuner. Videos keep their original picture untouched unless you change speed or trim.
