Frequently asked questions

Is this a mix of real tracks?
No. The music is composed and synthesized live in your browser as it plays — the kick, the rolling bass, the acid lines, the build-ups and the drops are all generated on your device from the rules of the genre. There are no recordings, samples or copyrighted tracks, and it never repeats exactly.
What are the styles?
Five: Full-On (bright and driving, around 145 BPM), Progressive (deeper and rolling, around 138), Goa (melodic and eastern, in a Phrygian-dominant scale), Dark Forest (fast, twisted and metallic, 150+) and Psychill (downtempo, half-time and dreamy). Each has its own bassline, acid character, drums, pads, effects and visual colours.
What does the Drop button do?
It jumps the track into a short build-up — a snare roll, a rising sweep, the acid filter opening — and then a drop, with an impact, whatever part of the track it was in. With DJ journey on, the track also moves through intros, grooves, build-ups, drops and breakdowns on its own; turn it off to hold the drop as a steady groove.
Can I use the visuals full screen?
Yes — press Full-screen visuals or F. The visuals react to the music every frame: they pulse on the kick, follow the bass and hi-hats, calm down in breakdowns and explode on the drops. Choose Mandala, Tunnel or Fractal, or Auto to switch between them as the track moves on. Space plays and stops, D drops, V changes the visuals and Esc exits.
Are the visuals safe if I'm sensitive to flashing?
They pulse gently with the beat rather than strobing, but they are moving, colourful patterns. If flashing or motion affects you, switch on Calm visuals (it is on automatically if your device asks for reduced motion) and avoid full screen.
Will it keep playing with the screen locked?
In most browsers, yes — it plays through your device's media player, so it carries on in a background tab or with the screen locked, with play and pause on the lock screen. While the visuals are full screen, the screen is kept awake.
Is it free and private?
Completely. No account, no sign-up, nothing uploaded or downloaded — the music and the visuals are generated on your own device.
