About the Game

Pattern Logic is a small, self-contained brain-training exercise built around logical reasoning, pattern recognition, and attention. Every puzzle is generated from a rule and then checked against a library of other rules, so a wrong option that could also be explained gets the puzzle redrawn: one correct answer, never an ambiguous one.

It's meant to be a fun, casual logic and pattern-recognition exercise, not a medical or intelligence test. Playing it doesn't diagnose anything and doesn't guarantee any measurable increase in intelligence — it's simply a game that happens to lean on the same reasoning skills you use every day.

How do you play Pattern Logic?
Each puzzle shows a sequence, a set of items, a 3 by 3 grid or a figure with one piece missing. Work out the rule connecting the items, then click, tap, or press the matching number key for your answer. A correct answer moves you to the next puzzle; a wrong answer reveals the correct one, the rule, and why each wrong option does not fit.
What kinds of puzzles does it include?
Ten kinds: number sequences, missing numbers inside a sequence, odd one out, dot, size and rotation patterns, letter sequences (like A, C, F, J), shape sequences where shape, fill and size each follow their own rule, 3 by 3 grids like an IQ matrix, and mirror or turn puzzles where you pick the flipped or rotated figure.
What's the difference between Classic, Timed, Practice and Daily?
Classic is one continuous run starting from your chosen difficulty that climbs higher as you solve more puzzles, and ends the moment you answer incorrectly. Timed gives you a fixed 60 seconds at your chosen difficulty and keeps going through a miss. Practice has no timer, never records anything, lets you train one puzzle type, and offers hints that cost points. Daily is a set of ten puzzles, one of each type, that is the same for everyone on a given date.
How does the daily set work?
Every local date has its own ten puzzles, easy ones first and hard ones last, made from the date alone, so everyone gets the same set with no server involved. A miss does not end the set. Only your first finished attempt of the day is saved; playing it again is practice and says so. You can copy a result grid (green and red squares, like a word game) to paste anywhere, or save a share picture.
Does the difficulty change as I play?
In Classic mode, yes: your starting difficulty (Easy, Medium, or Hard) ramps upward as your level rises, up to a cap of Hard. In Timed and Practice, the difficulty you pick stays fixed for the whole run. A Daily set has a fixed order from easy to hard.
Is every puzzle guaranteed to have one correct answer?
Yes, and it is checked rather than assumed. Before a puzzle is shown, every answer option is tried against a library of rules (steady steps, repeating gaps, growing gaps, multiplying and adding, Fibonacci-style sums, interleaved sequences, grid rules, number properties and more). If any wrong option is also explained by some rule, the puzzle is thrown away and redrawn. Thousands of generated puzzles of every type are re-checked by the automated tests too.
Can I see why my answer was wrong?
Yes. After a wrong answer you see the rule and a line for every option saying why it fits or does not. When a run ends, Review lists every puzzle you missed with the same detail, and each miss has a button to practise that type of puzzle. In Practice, three hints are available at a score cost: the gaps or features laid out, the kind of rule, and one wrong option struck out.
Is it usable with a screen reader?
Each option has a spoken label such as 'Option 2: 7 dots' or 'arrow pointing right', each puzzle is announced when it appears and the result is announced after an answer. A 'Show text version' button under the puzzle writes every sequence, grid and figure out as plain text.
Are my scores saved?
Yes, only in your own browser. Classic and Timed each keep separate bests for Easy, Medium and Hard (best score, best streak, highest level, average response time, games played). Practice runs are never recorded, and Daily results are kept apart. The page also remembers how often you get each puzzle type right so it can suggest what to train. Nothing is uploaded, there's no account, and no server ever sees your results.
Is this a medical or IQ test?
No. It's a casual, fun exercise in logical reasoning and pattern recognition, not a clinical or intelligence assessment. The 3 by 3 grids resemble puzzles found in reasoning tests, but nothing here is scored against norms, and it doesn't diagnose anything or guarantee any measurable improvement in intelligence.
Is it really free, and does it work offline?
It's completely free with no sign-up and nothing to install. The whole game runs client-side, so once the page has loaded it keeps working even with a flaky connection.
