How do you play Stack Tower?
A block slides back and forth above your tower. Click, tap, or press Space to drop it onto the block below. Whatever overlaps stays; whatever misses falls away. Line up an almost-perfect drop and your block keeps its full width instead of shrinking, building a combo. Miss completely and the run ends.
What are the controls?
Click or tap anywhere on the board, or press the spacebar, to drop the moving block. P or Escape pauses, and the game also pauses when you switch tabs. The same action starts a fresh run from the title screen and restarts after Game Over.
What do the game modes do?
Classic speeds up as you climb. Zen keeps one gentle speed. Hardcore sends blocks in from either side, faster, and needs a tighter drop to count as perfect. Rush gives you 60 seconds to stack as many blocks as you can. Each of the four keeps its own best score, so a Zen record never hides a Hardcore one.
What is the daily tower?
Daily uses a seed made from your local date, so everyone who plays on the same date gets the same block speeds and entry sides. You can retry as often as you like; only your best score for today is kept, and it starts fresh tomorrow. It does not touch your mode bests.
What's a "perfect" drop, and what does a streak do?
Lining the moving block up almost exactly with the block below counts as perfect: your width is preserved instead of being cut down, and consecutive perfects build a combo with a growing score bonus. From the third perfect in a row, each further perfect also gives a little width back (never more than you started with). Every drop shows how close it was, as a percentage.
What is the ghost?
After you set a new best in a mode, the game remembers where you placed each block. In your next run of that mode it draws those placements as faint dashed outlines, so you can race your past self. Switch it off with the Ghost option. Ghosts are saved only in this browser.
What are the sky, shake and vibration?
The background changes as the tower grows (Treetops, Clouds, Stratosphere, Space, Moon) with a banner at each height, a light screen shake and, on phones that support it, a short vibration when a drop is cut. All of it can be switched off, and screen shake, sky changes, banners and vibration are turned off automatically if your device asks for reduced motion.
Which stats are saved?
Games played, average height, your best perfect streak and your last 50 scores, plus the best score for each mode. They are stored in your own browser only and can be cleared from the Your stats panel. There is no account and no server-side leaderboard.
Is it really free, and does it work offline?
It's completely free with no sign-up and nothing to install. The whole game runs in your browser on a canvas, so once the page has loaded it keeps working even with a flaky connection.
