Frequently asked questions

Is this the cognitive test politicians have talked about?
No. Mind Check is our own brain game, written from scratch with original words, pictures and questions. It isn't the Montreal Cognitive Assessment or any other clinical test, it isn't affiliated with anyone, and it can't diagnose anything. It's inspired by the general idea of a short memory-and-attention quiz — including the famous five-word recall — but all the content is ours.
Why is it out of 30?
Thirty points is a familiar, satisfying total for a short brain quiz, split across seven rounds. The round-by-round breakdown at the end shows how you reached your score.
What do the five words at the start do?
You memorise five words up front, then do the other rounds, and we ask you to recall the words at the very end. Delayed recall — remembering something after a gap and some distraction — is the heart of the test.
Does my score mean anything about my health?
No. Mind Check is just for fun and can't detect, diagnose or rule out any condition. Scores swing with tiredness, stress and distraction. If you're genuinely worried about your memory or focus, talk to a doctor.
Is anything saved or uploaded?
No. The whole test runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent anywhere or stored, and there's no sign-up.
