Is my recording uploaded to a server?
No. Recording happens entirely in your browser and stays on your device — you only get a file when you press download. Nothing is uploaded, and there's no account.
What formats can I download?
Your browser's native format (usually WebM/Opus, or M4A on Safari) for an instant download, plus WAV (uncompressed, universal) and MP3 (small, plays everywhere). WAV and MP3 are re-encoded on your device.
Can I pause and resume a recording?
Yes. Use Pause to stop temporarily and Resume to continue the same recording — handy for longer memos or takes.
How long can I record?
As long as your device's memory allows — recordings are held in memory until you download them, so very long sessions use more RAM. For most voice memos and takes there's no practical limit.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, on a mobile browser with microphone permission. Note that phones may pause the recording if you lock the screen or switch apps, so keep the tab in the foreground.
