How does a fancy text generator work?

It doesn't use real fonts — it swaps each letter for a look-alike character that already exists in Unicode, like the Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols used for 𝐛𝐨𝐥𝐝 and 𝑖𝑡𝑎𝑙𝑖𝑐. Because the result is plain Unicode, you can paste it anywhere that accepts text: an Instagram bio, a Discord message, a document title.

Why does some fancy text show up as boxes or not at all?

Every app renders the text with its own fonts, and not every font includes a glyph for every Unicode character. When a character is missing you'll see a box (“tofu”). Bold, italic, and monospace are the most widely supported; the more decorative styles (fraktur, small caps, squared) fall back more often on older devices.

Is fancy text safe to use in usernames and bios?

Usually, but each platform sets its own rules — some strip or reject non-standard characters in usernames, and screen readers may read styled letters oddly or skip them, which hurts accessibility. It's great for a bit of flair in a bio or post; avoid it for anything that needs to stay readable to everyone.

What is zalgo text?

Zalgo, or “cursed” text, stacks many combining diacritic marks above, below, and through each character so the text looks like it's glitching or dripping. The intensity slider controls how many marks are added. Some apps limit how many combining marks they'll render, so extreme zalgo can look different from one place to another.

Is my text uploaded anywhere?
