- How do I add URLs to the sitemap?
- Paste URLs or paths (one per line) and click Add, or open a file: an existing sitemap, a CSV or TSV export with a URL column, JSON, or a plain list. You can also pick a folder of built HTML files; each page becomes a URL with its file date, and pages marked noindex are left out.
- Can I paste paths like /about instead of full URLs?
- Yes. Fill in your site address once and every path is completed (/about becomes https://example.com/about). Each URL is also cleaned up: spaces and accented letters are encoded, backslashes fixed, and you can choose always-https, a trailing-slash rule and dropping #fragments.
- What happens with invalid or duplicate URLs?
- Every row is checked live. URLs a sitemap can't hold are flagged with the reason, and repeats are found after cleaning, so https://example.com, https://example.com/ and HTTPS://EXAMPLE.COM/ count as one. Only the first is written. Future dates and mixed http/https are flagged too.
- What if my site has more than 50,000 pages?
- A sitemap file may hold 50,000 URLs or 50 MB. Past either limit the list is split into sitemap-1.xml, sitemap-2.xml and so on, plus a sitemap_index.xml that points to them, downloaded together as a ZIP. Tick .gz to compress the files as well.
- Does it support hreflang, images, video and Google News?
- Yes. Each URL can list its language versions, the images on the page, a video (title, description, thumbnail and file or player URL) and a Google News article. The extra namespaces are only added when used, and incomplete video or news entries are left out with a note.
- Can I change many URLs at once?
- Yes. Under “Change many at once”, type a pattern such as /blog/* and set the change frequency, priority, last modified date or whether to include them. Defaults apply to every new URL, and the list can be filtered and sorted.
- Can it check a sitemap I already have?
- Yes. Choose “Check a sitemap” and paste or open any sitemap or sitemap index. It reports broken XML with the line number, relative or unencoded URLs, invalid dates, change frequencies and priorities, repeats, unknown tags, URLs from other sites and the 50,000 / 50 MB limits.
- What are changefreq, priority and lastmod?
- Optional fields from the sitemap protocol: changefreq hints how often a page changes, priority (0.0–1.0) its importance within your site, and lastmod when it last changed. Search engines treat them as hints. “Today” uses your own date, not UTC.
- Is anything uploaded or crawled?
- No. Nothing is fetched or crawled, and every URL, file and folder you add is read in your browser and never uploaded. Your list is kept as a draft on this device. It's free with no sign-up.
