How does the QR & barcode reader work?
Point your camera at a QR code or barcode and it's decoded instantly on your device — or upload a photo/screenshot of one. The content is shown in a friendly form: a link you can open, Wi-Fi details, a contact, or plain text, with a one-tap copy. Nothing is uploaded.
What can it read?
QR codes and the common barcodes — EAN-13/8, UPC-A/E, Code 128, Code 39/93, ITF and Codabar, plus Data Matrix, Aztec and PDF417. For QR codes it also understands conventional payloads: website links, Wi-Fi joins, contact cards (vCard/MECARD), email, phone, SMS and map locations.
Is anything uploaded or tracked?
No. Decoding happens entirely in your browser — the camera frames and any image you pick never leave your device, there's no server, and there's no account.
Does it work on iPhone?
Yes. On Chrome and Android it uses the browser's built-in detector; on iPhone Safari and Firefox it falls back to an on-device decoder that's loaded only when needed. The page must be served over HTTPS, which this site is.
Is it safe to open a scanned link?
Treat scanned links with care — a QR code can point anywhere, and malicious “quishing” codes exist. This reader always shows you the full address before you open it, and never opens anything automatically. Only open links you trust.
