Frequently asked questions

Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. Compression runs entirely in your browser using the canvas API — your images never leave your device. You can verify it by turning off your internet after the page loads; it keeps working because there is no upload step.
How much smaller will my images get?
It depends on the image and the quality you choose. Photographs saved as JPG or WebP commonly drop by half or more at a quality around 75%. Images that are already well-compressed won't shrink much — and when a re-encode comes out no smaller, we return your original untouched.
Will compression reduce quality?
JPG and WebP are lossy, so lowering the quality slider trades some fidelity for a smaller file — at 75–85% the loss is usually invisible. PNG is lossless, so it compresses less but never degrades. You control the balance.
Can I convert formats while compressing?
Yes. Keep each image's format, or convert the whole batch to JPG, WebP or PNG. WebP usually gives the smallest files while keeping transparency; JPG is smallest for photographs without transparency.
Is there a limit on how many images I can compress?
No artificial limit. Images are processed one after another on your device, so the only ceiling is your device's memory. There's no account, no watermark and no daily cap.
