Your screen never leaves your computer. Nothing is uploaded or stored.
Android phones and tablets only, over a USB cable, in Chrome or Edge on a computer.
Your phone isn't in the list? It only appears once USB debugging is on. See Troubleshooting below.
Before you connect
Do this once on the phone. After the first time, plugging in and pressing Connect is enough.
Turn on Developer options
Open Settings > About phone and tap Build number 7 times. On Samsung it is under Software information; on Xiaomi, tap MIUI or OS version. Enter your PIN if asked.
Turn on USB debugging
Open Settings > System > Developer options (on some phones, Settings > Developer options) and switch on USB debugging. On Xiaomi, also switch on USB debugging (Security settings) so taps work.
Plug the phone into this computer
Use a USB cable that carries data (some charging cables don't). If the phone asks what the USB connection is for, choose File transfer.
Press Connect and allow USB debugging
Pick your phone in the browser's list, then look at the phone: tap Allow on "Allow USB debugging?". Tick "Always allow from this computer" to skip this next time.
Stream settings
Used for the next connection. Lower values give a smoother picture on slow cables and older phones.
Troubleshooting
My phone isn't in the browser's list
The list only shows devices with USB debugging on. Check step 2, unlock the phone, try another cable (some only charge) and plug straight into the computer. On Windows, the phone also needs the WinUSB driver: see the next item.
Windows: the phone isn't listed, or it says access denied
Chrome on Windows can only open USB devices that use the WinUSB driver. Google's ADB driver is WinUSB-based; many phone makers' drivers are not. Install WinUSB for the phone's ADB interface with Zadig: open it, choose Options > List All Devices, pick the entry named like your phone with ADB or Interface 1 in it, choose WinUSB and press Replace Driver. Then unplug and replug the phone.
"Device busy" or "Unable to claim interface"
Another program is holding the phone's ADB connection: usually an ADB server started by adb, Android Studio or scrcpy. Run adb kill-server in a terminal, or close those programs, then connect again. Only one program, or one browser tab, can use the phone at a time.
Stuck on "Allow USB debugging?" or unauthorized
Unlock the phone; the prompt only shows on an unlocked screen. Missed it or tapped Deny? Unplug and plug the phone back in to see it again. Still nothing: in Developer options tap Revoke USB debugging authorizations, switch USB debugging off and on, then connect again.
Connected, but the picture is black or frozen
A still screen sends no new frames, so tap the picture first. If it stays black, lower the max resolution and bit rate in Stream settings and reconnect. Some phones can't encode above 1920 px, and some older ones need 1024 px.
Taps or typing don't work
On Xiaomi phones, switch on USB debugging (Security settings) in Developer options. To type, click the picture first so it has focus. Some apps block input from outside the phone, such as banking apps and password fields.
Linux: the phone isn't listed or can't be opened
Your user needs permission to open the USB device. Install your distribution's android-udev-rules package (or add a udev rule for the phone's vendor ID), make sure your user is in the plugdev group, then unplug and replug the phone.
