Frequently asked questions

How do I convert a time between cities?
Add the cities, then type a time in any row (14:30, 2:30 pm or just 9) or move the slider. Every other row updates at once, with its date, offset from UTC and abbreviation. The date box sets the date in the first row.
How does the meeting planner find a good time?
Each row is a 24-hour strip starting at midnight in the first city: green for your working hours (9 to 17 by default, changeable), amber for early or late, grey for night. The outlined stretch is when everyone is at work. The panel lists the longest windows and a button moves the time to the start of one.
What happens on days when the clocks change?
Offsets come from your browser's time zone database for the exact moment, so daylight saving is handled per city and per date. A row on a changeover day says how far the clocks move. If you type a time that is skipped (02:30 on the US spring-forward day) or repeated (01:30 when the clocks go back), you are told, shown both readings and can pick one.
Does it handle half-hour and quarter-hour zones?
Yes. India (+5:30), Nepal (+5:45), Chatham Islands (+12:45 or +13:45) and Lord Howe Island (a 30-minute daylight saving shift) are all read from the same database and shown to the minute. Working-hour cells are judged by their middle, so a half-hour zone lines up honestly.
Which places can I add?
About 300 major cities, searchable by city, country or common names (NYC, Bombay), plus any IANA zone name your browser knows, such as America/Argentina/Salta. Your own time zone is added on your first visit.
Can I share a meeting time?
Copy summary gives one line such as 'Mon 2 Nov 14:00 London = 09:00 New York = 19:30 Mumbai (+1 day)' when a city is on another date. Copy link makes an address whose part after the # carries your places, working hours, clock style and the chosen moment. That part is never sent to a server, and opening it does not overwrite your own saved places until you edit.
What does it remember?
Your places and their order, working hours and 12/24-hour choice are kept in this browser only. The chosen time is not kept: the page opens on the live current time.
Is anything uploaded?
No. Every calculation uses your browser's built-in time zone data. Nothing you add is sent anywhere, there is no sign-up, and it is free. Very old or very distant dates (before 1900 or after 2199) are not accepted.
