Number Memory is a small, self-contained brain-training exercise built around one classic idea: hold a growing number in mind for a few seconds. It's designed to give your short-term numerical memory a light workout — the kind of skill you use whenever you hold a phone number, a code, or a total in your head for a moment.

It's meant to be a fun, quick mental exercise, not a medical or diagnostic tool. Playing it doesn't guarantee improved intelligence, doesn't prevent memory conditions like dementia, and won't permanently improve your memory — it's simply a game that happens to lean on the same short-term recall skills you use every day.

How do you play Number Memory?
A number appears on screen for a short time — memorize it. Once it disappears, type it back exactly using the on-screen keypad or your keyboard, then press Enter or Submit. Get it right and the next number is one digit longer; get it wrong and the round ends.
What are the controls?
Type digits with your keyboard or tap the on-screen numeric keypad. Use Backspace to fix a mistake, and press Enter or the Submit button to check your answer. Only digits are accepted — nothing else can be typed into the field.
What's the difference between Classic and Time Challenge?
Classic is one continuous run that ends the moment you enter the wrong number. Time Challenge gives you 60 seconds to clear as many numbers as possible — a miss just starts a fresh, shorter number rather than ending the game.
Does the game get harder as I go?
Yes. Each round adds one more digit to remember, and the number is shown for less time as you climb — so later rounds demand both a longer memory and a quicker glance. From level 6 onward a subtle visual flicker plays while the number is on screen, for an extra challenge.
Is my score saved?
Your personal best — highest level, highest score, longest number, and best streak — is stored locally in your own browser for Classic and Time Challenge, tracked separately since the two modes aren't directly comparable. Nothing is uploaded, there's no account, and no server ever sees your scores.
Is it really free, and does it work offline?
It's completely free with no sign-up and nothing to install. The whole game runs client-side, so once the page has loaded it keeps working even with a flaky connection.
